The Patriarch Discusses Presidential Developments with Grio

Today, Tuesday, the Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros al-Raï hosted the French ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grio, at Bkirki, where they discussed the latest developments in the local arena. He also held talks with former MP Walid Khoury on several national issues, primarily the presidential vacancy. There was a strong emphasis on "the need for national awareness to prevail among all involved in this matter, prioritizing the public interest and the welfare of Lebanon and the Lebanese over their personal interests and narrow calculations that are deepening Lebanon's crises." He also met with former Minister Naji Bustani, who expressed hope for "a glimmer of hope soon regarding resolving the deadlocks in Lebanon, particularly the presidential vacancy issue."
