Israeli forces launched a campaign of raids and arrests in several areas of the West Bank early this Monday, while armed clashes broke out in the city of Nablus. The "Palestinian Prisoners' Club" reported that "Israeli forces arrested 11 Palestinians, who were transferred for interrogation by Israeli security agencies on charges of participating in armed actions against settlers and soldiers."
The raids were concentrated in the governorates of Jenin, Qalqilya, Nablus, and Ramallah, where dozens of homes were stormed and searched, and their contents were tampered with after subjecting the residents to field interrogations and detaining them for hours. An Israeli force also stormed the city of Nablus with several military vehicles. Alarms sounded in Balata refugee camp following the incursion in the eastern part of the city.
Israeli forces invaded Al-Amman Street and Joseph's Tomb east of the city, as Palestinian youths fired at them, leading to further armed clashes around Balata camp. Several Israeli army snipers were deployed around Joseph's Tomb. This comes a day after two Palestinians were shot dead by the Israeli army during a raid in the city of Tulkarem.
