Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban confirmed at the Qatar Economic Forum today that his country's negotiations regarding the purchase of liquefied natural gas from Qatar "are still ongoing." Orban noted that "Qatar shows interest in Budapest Airport, and we welcome them." Additionally, Orban stated, "Relations between Hungary and Sweden need to improve before approving Sweden's request to join NATO." Sweden and its neighbor Finland requested to join the alliance last year following the onset of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
