Lebanese people are preparing to celebrate Christmas and New Year's "possibly" this year, amidst rising prices of everything without exception. As citizens limit their purchases due to high costs, the pressing question on everyone’s mind remains: will there be rationing of generator supply during Christmas and New Year?
The MTV website posed this question to the owner of a generator company in multiple regions of Metn, who delivered good news to the Lebanese regarding "electricity" during the holidays. He stated: "There will be no rationing during the two holidays, and the direction of all generator owners in different regions is to ensure that generator supply does not cut off so that Lebanese people can celebrate without worries about electricity."
In another context, he noted that "the situation in this sector is improving, and people have gotten used to managing their household expenses concerning generator supply. From our side, we are no longer losing as we did in the past, but this does not mean our profits have increased." He added: "We are not against the people as some may portray; we are one of them and dream, like they do, of a day when 'state electricity' will be available 24 hours a day, especially since this sector was born out of the state's negligence and corruption."
