Sudan: UN Representative Unwelcome

Sudan has informed the United Nations that the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Volker Perthes, and the head of the UN Integrated Transition Support Mission in Sudan are considered unwelcome. Earlier, Sudan's army chief, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, expressed his rejection of the envoy. Supporters of former President Omar al-Bashir also demonstrated in front of the mission led by Perthes before the war.
