Beijing Opposes US Sanctions Linked to Russia on Chinese Companies

Chinese state media reported on Saturday that the Ministry of Commerce stated, "The country strongly opposes the sanctions imposed by the United States on certain Chinese companies due to their alleged involvement with Russia." The ministry argued that "Washington should immediately correct what it described as violations, and stop the unjust repression of Chinese companies." China views this step as impacting the security and stability of global supply chains. Last Wednesday, the United States imposed sanctions on more than 120 targets, including companies based in China, to pressure Russia over its war in Ukraine.
