The United States welcomed, today, Monday, the resumption of diplomatic representation between Qatar and the UAE and the reopening of the embassies of both countries. The U.S. State Department described it as "an important step" towards enhancing stability in the region. This resumption of diplomatic representation comes amidst broader efforts in the region to achieve reconciliation, following more than two years since Arab countries ended a boycott of Doha that had divided the Gulf states.
