Azzour's First Comment After the Voting Session Results

A statement was issued by former Minister Jihad Azzour following today's parliamentary session: "I extend my thanks and appreciation to all the MPs who entrusted me by voting for me in the first round of today’s session. I hope this new scene serves as an incentive to unite for a solution to extricate Lebanon from the crisis and to continue the electoral process for the benefit of the Lebanese people." He added: "I would like to point out that I am currently on leave from the International Monetary Fund, and I have temporarily stepped down from my role as Director for the Middle East and Central Asia. The views I express are personal and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the International Monetary Fund."
