These statements by Sisi came during the visit of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to the Climate Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, marking his first visit in four years. President Abdel Fattah Sisi affirmed his commitment to strengthening relations with Washington amid challenges and negative repercussions on energy and food security due to global events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukrainian crisis.

Bassem Rady, the spokesman for the presidency, revealed that the meeting included a private session with Pelosi, followed by an extensive discussion session with her accompanying delegation. Sisi reiterated his desire for ongoing communication with congressional leaders as part of the coordination and consultation between the two friendly countries on various matters of mutual interest, showcasing Egypt's efforts in combating terrorism and extremist ideologies.
