India Equips Its Army with Remotely Controlled Fast Boats

The website "Navy Recognition" reported that the "Indian Ministry of Defense plans to purchase 20 RMFIC-I fast interceptor boats to equip the navy. These boats are equipped with technologies that enable remote control." It was explained, citing the Indian Navy, that the RMFIC-I boats to be acquired can be operated by a single person, either directly from the boat or from a coastal control station.

The site added: "The boats that the Indian Navy will obtain will range in length from 13 to 17 meters, with a displacement of 17 tons, and will be capable of moving at a speed of 45 nautical knots. They will function as interceptor boats in areas up to 40 nautical miles from the shore and will be armed with various types of machine guns."
