Libyan Oil Corporation Announces Work Stoppage at Mellitah Complex

The Libyan National Oil Corporation announced today, Sunday, that work at the Mellitah Oil and Gas Complex will cease starting tomorrow, Monday, to commence maintenance activities. This includes the offshore Bahr Al-Salam gas field and the Al-Wafa oil field. The National Oil Corporation stated, "The maintenance is expected to last approximately three weeks." It clarified that the Chairman of the Corporation, Farhat Ben Qadara, granted permission to begin maintenance after it had been "postponed several times for various reasons and circumstances." Additionally, it noted, "All necessary arrangements have been made to compensate for the gas shortfall during the stoppage period."
