The Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi will make a state visit to India from January 24 to 26, and will attend the Republic Day celebrations. The ministry stated in a press release on Saturday that "the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah Sisi, will visit India on January 24 and 26 at the invitation of Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi. Sisi, who will be on his second official visit to India, will be the chief guest at India's 74th Republic Day." During the visit, the Egyptian president will hold a meeting and bilateral discussions with the Prime Minister on issues of mutual interest, as well as meet with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs mentioned that "President Sisi's upcoming visit is expected to enhance and deepen the long-standing partnership between India and Egypt."
