The verified account "Saudi Projects" on the platform "X," dedicated to monitoring projects and development in the Kingdom, released a recent aerial shot documenting the excavation and foundation work at the site of "The Line" project.
The account shared this recent aerial image that "shows the progress made in excavation and foundation work at the site of 'The Line,' which extends for a length of 170 km in Neom, executed with the participation of dozens of local and international consulting and engineering companies, as well as thousands of engineers and workers."
Among the most promising projects for Saudi Arabia, the "The Line" city aims to provide the best living conditions for residents. This city is planned to be built on the coast of Neom, northwest of the Kingdom near the Gulf of Aqaba on the Red Sea, consisting of uniquely designed residential complexes extending over 170 km in length and 200 m in width, with both sides covered by glass surfaces made of reflective mirrors for a unique appearance.
"The Line" will be constructed over an area of approximately 34 square kilometers, accommodating around 9 million people, and a significant portion of its internal space will be covered by greenery and plants, making it a model for modern cities that meet environmental sustainability standards.
What will set it apart is that it will be free of traditional streets and cars, meaning it will be devoid of harmful carbon emissions, and it will depend entirely on renewable energy. The city will be designed so that anyone present can access all necessary facilities within a 5-minute walk, and a high-speed train will connect the farthest points within "The Line" in no more than 20 minutes.
