Mexican President Accuses Pentagon of Spying

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador accused the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) of spying on his government following the publication of leaked documents by American media. He stated, "We will begin a process to classify the level of secrecy of the Armed Forces' information to protect national security." He added in a press conference: "We will now protect the information from the Navy and the Department of Defense because we have become a target for spying by the Pentagon." A report from The Washington Post indicated that there was no indication that the source of the information in the document was from intercepting communications between Mexican officials.
