A judicial official revealed on Wednesday that "a French investigating judge will visit Lebanon this month to inquire about information requested by the French judiciary regarding the Beirut port explosion, which has not yet received responses." The judicial official told AFP that "the French investigating judge will arrive in Lebanon on January 23, and will meet the following day with Judge Sobhi Suleiman, the appellate public prosecutor who is overseeing the port case from the prosecution side."
He added, "The French judge intends to ask about the judicial requests sent to Lebanon as part of the investigation in France regarding the port explosion," noting that the Lebanese side will inform him that "it has not received responses because the Lebanese investigation is still pending." Additionally, the caretaker Justice Minister Henry Khoury confirmed the visit date during a press conference on Wednesday, clarifying that the arrangements related to it and the manner of handling it are the responsibility of the appellate prosecution.
