Marquez Withdraws from Dutch Grand Prix

World champion and Spanish racer Marc Marquez announced his absence from the Dutch Grand Prix today, Sunday, due to not having recovered from injuries sustained during the German Grand Prix earlier last week. He withdrew from the event after falling five times before the race he has won eight times in his career.

He said: "I did not arrive at the circuit in my full physical fitness due to a sprain and a fracture in my finger; there is a break in one of my ribs causing severe pain."

He added: "After examinations, I decided with the medical team not to participate in today's race to avoid worsening the situation and to recover in the coming weeks."
