Turkey has agreed to stop the transfer of sanctioned Western goods to Russia, following pressure from the G7 and Washington's scrutiny of Ankara's trade data with Moscow, according to a senior US official. James O'Brien, the head of sanctions coordination at the US State Department, told Reuters, "Turkish officials have been very clear with governments and agencies regarding the enforcement of the ban on re-exporting sanctioned goods to Russia." He pointed out that Washington has not yet seen the impact of this change. He added, "It will take some time to see that, but we will look at trade data from March and April, and we expect to see a significant decline in this trade."
