Russia launched a massive wave of missile strikes across Ukraine early Thursday, resulting in the deaths of at least six civilians, as well as power outages and the shutdown of a nuclear power plant. This marks the first major missile strike since mid-February after the longest period of relative calm since Moscow began targeting Ukraine's civilian infrastructure five months ago. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it carried out a "huge retaliatory strike" on Ukrainian infrastructure in response to a cross-border attack last week that targeted a village in the Bryansk region of Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated, "The occupiers can only terrorize civilians. That is all they can do. But that will not help them. They will not escape responsibility for everything they have done," referring to the strikes that targeted infrastructure and residential buildings in ten regions.
