Erdogan Thanks Putin.. and Why?

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a phone call to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to thank him for his "positive stance" regarding the extension of the grain export agreement via the Black Sea, according to the Turkish presidency. The presidency noted that the two discussed steps to improve Turkish-Russian relations and developments related to the war in Ukraine. Erdogan also expressed the importance of ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine through negotiations as soon as possible.
