The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) announced that this week has broken the record for daily temperatures. According to preliminary data, the average global temperature at 2 meters elevation reached 17.03 degrees Celsius on July 4. The previous record was around 16.9 degrees Celsius. Experts explained that satellite weather monitoring has been in place since 1979. However, they are confident that July 3 has already become the hottest day in the history of regular scientific meteorological observations conducted since the late 19th century.
