Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi met today with former MP Emil Rahme at the patriarchate in Bkerke. Rahme pointed out that "the visit of His Beatitude is essential," and that His Beatitude is very upset and deeply saddened because this sacred homeland is collapsing, and no one is moving to resolve the crisis. Rahme continued: "The complex internal situation was discussed along with the politicians' inability to resolve the vacancy crisis and form an effective new government, the return of the Parliament to legislative work, and the return of the authorities, led by the judiciary as the main authority."
