Geology researcher at the American University, Tony Nimer, stated on his Twitter account: "Two earthquakes occurred in Lebanon this afternoon with magnitudes of 2.4 and 3.4, with their epicenters between Rachin and Shahtoul in Kesrouan along secondary faults." Nimer commented: "It's simple and does not warrant concern."
