"Fox Cinema" announced today, Thursday, that the UAE will not screen the film (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) without providing reasons amidst online discussions among cinema enthusiasts in the Middle East about the film's handling of transgender topics. The film, which is the second installment of (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), was released in the United States on June 2 and was supposed to be shown in the Gulf region on June 22. However, Fox, part of the Majid Al Futtaim group, responded to a question via Facebook Messenger stating that the film would not be shown in the UAE. Reuters was unable to obtain a comment from the group.
