Former Lagos State governor Bola Tinubu took the oath of office as President of Nigeria today, Monday, amid increasing calls for improvements in the economic and security conditions many have complained have worsened during the tenure of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari. In his inauguration speech, Tinubu stated that he would reshape the economy to increase the growth rate, adding that his administration would target a growth rate of at least six percent annually. The 71-year-old Tinubu pledged to be a better guardian of the state.
