The British Maritime Trade Operations agency announced on Friday that it received reports of a ship being attacked south of the coastal town of Nashtoon in Yemen. In a statement, it mentioned that "gunfire was directed at the ship," noting that "three boats were also observed, each with three or four individuals on board." The agency did not provide further details, but several ships have been attacked in recent years off the coast of Yemen, which has been torn by an ongoing conflict for the past eight years between the Houthi group and a military coalition led by Saudi Arabia supporting the internationally recognized Yemeni government.
