German Chancellor Olaf Scholz indicated to the "NPR" group of German newspapers that he can say that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not ready to negotiate to end the war in Ukraine. He added, "Ukraine must decide the conditions it is willing to accept for peace." He continued that "Germany's energy supplies, the largest economy in Europe, will be sufficient next winter and that the German economy is on track to achieve growth rates not seen since the 1950s and 1960s due to significant investments in climate protection."
