The Belgian Football Federation has allowed goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to skip a friendly match against Germany in Cologne on Tuesday due to the busy schedule of his club Real Madrid. Courtois participated in his 101st match with the national team during the 3-0 victory over Sweden in Stockholm last Friday, marking the beginning of the Euro 2024 qualifiers and the first test for the new coach Domenico Tedesco. Courtois has played 32 matches with Real Madrid this season, and the team is looking ahead to matches in La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Champions League. Wolfsburg goalkeeper Koen Casteels, aged 30, will have the opportunity to participate for the fifth time with the national team.
