Britain: Gunfire on Oil Tanker in the Gulf

The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority indicated today, Wednesday, that "gunfire was directed at an oil tanker in Gulf waters, with no harm done to the vessel or its crew." The authority stated: "The ship was located off the coast of the Omani capital, Muscat, when the gunfire occurred today." The security company Ambrey mentioned that "the vessel is a Bahamian-flagged oil tanker, owned by Greece and operated by an American company." Ambrey, based on its own search operations, reported that "the ship, which was en route from the UAE to Singapore, increased its speed and changed course due to the incident."
