The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced today, Friday, that the United States has extended the temporary protection system for Ukraine for 18 months and made other changes that will allow more eligible Ukrainians to apply for temporary protection. The department clarified in a statement that the extension will take effect from October 20 until April 19, 2025.
