Denmark Searches for Yacht Linked to Nord Stream Pipeline Explosions

Danish police are searching for a yacht on a small island located in the Baltic Sea near the explosion sites of the Nord Stream pipelines, according to a statement made by the local governor of Christiansø island on Thursday. German authorities confirmed that they raided a vessel in January that may have transported the explosives used in the pipeline explosions.

Søren Timm Andersen, the highest authority on the island, told Reuters, "The police are looking for a specific boat that was anchored here in September." The Nord Stream pipeline explosions, designed to supply Europe with Russian natural gas, have become a significant point of contention between Moscow and the West following last year's invasion of Ukraine. Currently, authorities in Sweden, Germany, and Denmark are investigating the explosions and state that they were intentional, although no party has yet been identified as responsible.
