The National News Agency reported the arrival of Basil Habakuk, a citizen who survived the earthquake in Turkey, and the body of the young man Eli Haddad at the airport. Habakuk expressed his gratitude to the "civil defense youths for their efforts," stating, "They were digging with their hands to find survivors and victims," and emphasized the need to support them immediately. Regarding his ability to endure under the rubble, he said, "I drew strength from the face of my daughter and my family, and my only hope was to return alive to them. I prayed to God not to test my mother with my fate, and I always prayed the rosary." He thanked "the Turkish state for its efforts, despite the great tragedy it faced," adding, "I wish the civil defense youths had gone to Antakya where Eli and I were before heading to the Bustan area."
Habakuk also expressed gratitude to "everyone who prayed for his survival and lit a candle for him."
