The Saudi Arabian Football Federation and FIFA officially announced today, Monday, the selection of the city of Jeddah to host the upcoming edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, which will feature 7 teams and is scheduled for late this year. The International Football Association Board chose Saudi Arabia to organize this edition in February of last year without announcing the city. With this, Saudi Arabia becomes the fourth Arab country to host the Club World Cup, following the UAE, Qatar, and Morocco. This decision came after an official visit by a delegation from FIFA officials to Jeddah last week to review the preparations for the tournament, which is set to take place from December 12 to 22.
