"The Independent": Russia Prepares for a New Recruitment Campaign

The newspaper "The Independent" reported today, Thursday, based on information from the British Ministry of Defence, that Russian President Vladimir Putin may compel young people to join a voluntary program to be conscripted. Sources in the Ministry of Defence indicated that authorities are preparing to launch a large military recruitment campaign aimed at registering an additional 400,000 soldiers. It was noted that "there is a realistic possibility that regional authorities will attempt to achieve their recruitment targets by forcing men to join." This comes at a time when Russian forces have seen some success in Bakhmut over the past two days after being stalled around Donetsk for weeks in a slow-burning battle.
