Israeli police killed a man near the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem today, Saturday, after he seized a weapon from one of the officers and fired it, prompting the unit to shoot him without any injuries reported among the police. According to a police statement, the man was 26 years old and a resident of the Bedouin town of Hura in the south. The incident occurred during the night at the edge of the Al-Aqsa compound, coinciding with an increased influx of Muslims to the mosque during the month of Ramadan. Additionally, legislator Mansour Abbas, whose party, the United Arab List, is popular in the area, stated that the young man who was killed was studying medicine and questioned the police's account of events.
