Bahrain News Agency reported today, Thursday, that "Bahrain's sovereign wealth fund (Mumtalakat) announced its acquisition of preferred stock holdings in the McLaren automotive group." The Bahrain News Agency did not disclose the size of the deal. The report indicated that "this will not lead to any new capital being injected into McLaren. The purchase will increase the majority stake owned by Mumtalakat in the McLaren group, which includes the British high-performance car manufacturer as well as the McLaren Racing team." In July 2021, global investment firm "Ares Management" and the Saudi Public Investment Fund contributed the majority of an equity investment in the McLaren group worth £550 million.
