Egyptian media reported that "preliminary investigations into the Al-Saf desert incident revealed that speeding by the minibus driver was behind the accident." It was noted that the bus "collided from behind with a truck that was parked on the side of the road," leading to the incident. The report detailed that the accident "resulted in the death of 15 individuals and injuries to 2 others, who were transported to the hospital."
