China's Envoy: Russia Appreciates Beijing's Efforts to Promote Peace

China's special envoy for Eurasian affairs, Li Hui, noted on Friday that the Russian side values China's desire and efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. Li observed during a press briefing about his European tour last month that "the risk of escalation in the Russian-Ukrainian war remains high." He emphasized the need for all parties to ensure "the safety of nuclear facilities," and stated that he does not believe that Russia and Ukraine have completely shut the door on negotiations for a resolution to the crisis.
