Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi praised the "sacrifices" and "patience" of the Egyptian people, who are enduring an economic crisis. In his speech during the tenth anniversary of the protests that led to the ousting of Egypt's first democratically elected president, which Sisi, then Minister of Defense, had led, he referenced the attacks carried out by extremists and the uncertainty that characterized the political and economic landscape at that time. He stated, "I believe that this generation, which has moved Egypt from chaos and anxiety to stability and security through its effort and patience, is capable of completing its comprehensive developmental experience." Sisi also spoke about the development of infrastructure and energy in Egypt, in addition to the creation of new cities, one of his initiatives that has incurred significant costs.
