Greek Prime Minister Declares Victory for His Party in Parliamentary Elections

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced his party's victory in the parliamentary elections on Sunday, stating that he has a mandate to form a strong self-governing government. Mitsotakis said, "The electoral results are decisive. They show that the New Democracy party has received the approval of the people to govern." Preliminary official results showed that the conservative New Democracy party, led by Mitsotakis, is set to achieve a significant victory in the parliamentary elections, but it was unable to secure the majority needed to form a single-party government.
