Former First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon confirmed today, Sunday, that she is innocent of any wrongdoing after being arrested and questioned by the police in connection with an investigation related to the financial affairs of the Scottish National Party. She added in a statement: "To find myself in the situation I faced today, while being certain that I did not commit any wrongdoing, is a shock and very sad. I know beyond a doubt that I am truly innocent of any error." The police released Sturgeon earlier today without filing any charges against her. Police Scotland stated in a statement, "She has been released without charge pending further inquiries."
