North Korea: The Agreement Between the U.S. and South Korea Will Escalate the Situation

Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, stated on Saturday that "the agreement between the United States and South Korea this week, regarding the need to enhance security in South Korea, will worsen the situation. As a result, there is a conviction of the necessity to improve the capacity to deter a formal nuclear war." This statement from Kim Yo Jong is North Korea's first comment on the meeting, indicating that the country will continue to showcase military strength and develop weapons. It is noteworthy that a week ago, the United States pledged to provide South Korea with more assistance in planning its nuclear strategies in relation to any conflict with North Korea amid concerns over Pyongyang's increasing arsenal of missiles and bombs.
