The West Asia Triathlon Championship was held in Kuwait with the participation of 11 countries under the supervision of the Asian Federation of the sport. The Lebanese team participated with a selection of male and female athletes in the open race for various age categories (sprint distances).
In terms of the results for the Lebanese delegation, Lindsay Nader secured first place, while Tonya Makari took third place, and Ramona Khalifa finished ninth after a strong competition in the women's race. In the men's category, Ali Al-Zoubi managed to seize first place and win the race in the final meters thanks to experience and determination, while Khidr Yassin finished fourth.
As for the super sprint race, Mia Sahyun (13 years old), the youngest participant in the championship, achieved fifth place overall and first in her age category. On the sidelines of the championship, a General Assembly meeting of the West Asia Federation was held, attended by the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Federation, Dr. Ahmad Khalifa.
