Russia Repels Ukrainian Attacks in Donetsk and Zaporizhia

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that it has "repelled attempts by Ukrainian forces to attack the Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions and struck targets with precision missiles launched from the sea." Meanwhile, the governor of Zaporizhia, Yuri Malashko, stated on Monday that "Russia carried out an attack with three bombs on the small town of Orihiv in the southeast of Ukraine, resulting in one death and another injury." He added that "the attack caused the destruction of some homes and disrupted communication services in the town, located about eight kilometers from the front lines." Ukraine reported on Monday that "its forces have regained control of a fourth village from Russian troops in several settlements in the southeast, marking the day after announcing its first gains in the long-awaited counteroffensive." Russia mentioned that "its forces bombed Ukrainian army reserves using precision long-range weapons launched from the sea." The Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine and the Zaporizhia region in the southwest are among five areas that Moscow has declared annexed from Ukraine. These regions also include the Crimean Peninsula located on the Black Sea.
