Groups of protesters, particularly the Retired Military Movement, the National Rescue Movement, and those protesting against the rising cost of living and the deteriorating economic, social, and financial situation, along with the skyrocketing and random rise of the dollar, gathered today. They are also opposing the unprecedented and catastrophic collapse of the Lebanese pound. Delegations from various regions headed to Riad al-Solh Square since morning to voice their outrage towards officials and the Central Bank of Lebanon. They raised Lebanese flags and banners condemning the random financial policies and the rampant corruption in all aspects of life, unchecked by those in power, authorities, and Lebanese banks. Security forces, including the Lebanese Army and riot police, took measures around the area. A group of protesters attempted to breach the barbed wire, leading to clashes with security forces, who used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators. Additionally, dozens of fishermen and their families blocked the road at the Sultan Ibrahim point in Janah in protest against living conditions. One threatened to burn his boat due to his inability to secure gasoline.
