Egyptian Foreign Ministry: Statements Denying the Existence of the Palestinian People are Rejected

In response to statements made by Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who denied the existence of the Palestinian people along with their heritage, culture, history, and identity, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, emphasized Egypt's complete rejection of these irresponsible and inflammatory remarks. He highlighted that such statements carry racist implications that deny historical and geographical facts and fuel feelings of anger and resentment among the Palestinian people, as well as among the free peoples and those with a conscience around the world. Ambassador Abu Zeid also noted that such remarks undermine efforts aimed at achieving calm between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, especially as we approach the blessed month of Ramadan, which coincides this year with Christian and Jewish holidays, all of which embody the meanings of tolerance, peace, and respect for others.
