French nuclear fuel company "Orano" stated on Friday that its mining activities in Niger are ongoing despite the security events occurring in the country. Orano said in a statement, "Our teams are closely monitoring the events that took place on Wednesday in Niger, and our activities are continuing." The company noted that French nuclear power plants source less than 10 percent of their uranium from the African nation.
