Saudi Arabia ... Permit Required to Enter the Holy Capital

The public security in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has prohibited residents from entering the Holy Capital without a permit.

In a statement, it confirmed that "starting from today, Monday, residents who do not have an entry permit will be denied at the security checkpoints leading to the Holy Capital."

It added: "This comes in implementation of the regulations governing Hajj, which require residents wishing to enter the Holy Capital to obtain a permit from the relevant authorities. The regulations for this year's Hajj 1444 will be enforced, requiring the return of vehicles and residents to where they came from, except for those with an entry permit to work in the holy sites, issued by the competent authority, or a resident identity issued from the Holy Capital, or an Umrah permit, or a Hajj permit."
