For the First Time Since the War Began, Burhan Appears Publicly

A statement issued by the Sudanese army on Thursday noted that Army Chief, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Burhan, made his first public appearance since the war began outside the army headquarters and the Ministry of Defense complex. Burhan, who has been stationed in the complex housing the army command in Khartoum, has not appeared in video footage for weeks, while the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces control most areas of the capital outside the army bases. The statement added that "the operations between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces have focused on several areas, most notably Khartoum and its surroundings." The Sudanese army released footage of Burhan inspecting the Omdurman region and the Wadi Sidna Air Base early this morning.
