The head of the "Democratic Gathering" bloc, MP Taimur Jumblatt, warned against the continuation of the "anomalous" situation in Lebanon and the prolongation of the presidential vacuum, which has compounded the negative outlook threatening the country's components and placing it in an uncertain fate. He stated that while some regional countries find themselves "on the brink of serious global conflicts, and others concerned with Lebanon are working to arrange their strategic understandings, we are still in our country, and with the vacuum entering its sixth month, we await magical solutions and revelations from abroad, without considering our national and constitutional responsibility to reconstruct the state, starting with the election of a president of the republic and forming a government to halt this bleeding, which conceals more crises and leads to greater difficulties."
Regarding the issue of Syrian displacement, MP Jumblatt called for "an end to the campaigns against the displaced and for a rational and objective approach to address this issue," highlighting the "necessity for Lebanon not to be absent from the Arab meetings held in this regard and to participate in discussions, particularly the meeting of foreign ministers tomorrow at the Arab League, as it is the most concerned party."
