Japan Summons Chinese Ambassador Over Phone Calls

The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Monday that "Deputy Foreign Minister Masataka Okano summoned the Chinese ambassador due to the large number of disruptive phone calls coming from China regarding the discharge of treated radioactive water from Fukushima." The ministry's statement noted, "Some of these calls are also received by Japanese facilities in China," and urged the Chinese government to take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of Japanese citizens.
